Chinese tennis player Peng Shuai denied making allegations of sexual abuse in an interview

Chinese tennis star Peng Shuai said that she had never accused anyone of sexually assaulting her, and that a social media post she had made early last month had been misunderstood.

It marked the first time Peng has addressed the matter on camera in public. She spoke on the sidelines of a skiing event in Shanghai. Peng said that ‘people have many misunderstandings’ about her Weibo post. She did not elaborate.

The Women’s Tennis Association says Peng Shuai’s latest appearance has not eased concerns about her, after a video emerged of the Chinese tennis star denying accusing anyone of sexual assault.
