Oil executives face ‘turning point’ US congressional hearing on climate crisis. The heads of top US oil companies will answer accusations that their firms have spent years lying about the climate crisis.
Big oil companies must “come clean” about their role in pushing “climate disinformation” when they are hauled before Congress in a “historic” hearing, a US Congressman has warned. “We have a lot of incriminating evidence,” Rep Ro Khanna, who will chair the hearing, said.
For the first time in US history, Big Oil executives will have to respond, under oath, to allegations of an industry-wide disinformation campaign about the effects of climate change.
