Netflix employees are holding a walkout in response to co-CEO Ted Sarandos’ remarks

The trans employee resource group at Netflix is planning a company-wide walkout on October 20, in protest of remarks made by joint CEO Ted Sarandos regarding Dave Chappelle’s recently released comedy special, The Closer. LGBTQ activists say Chappelle made a number of anti-trans comments in that special.

Netflix bosses are braced for an employee walkout and rally in Los Angeles as anger swells over a recent Dave Chappelle comedy special that activists say is harmful to the transgender community.

Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos says he “should have led with a lot more humanity” in his internal communication about Dave Chappelle’s “The Closer”.

Last I checked Dave makes fun of literally everybody, why should he not be allowed to touch this subject simply because it’s the flavor of the month (literally every year there’s a new hop topic that is “trendy” to complain about and all the other issues nobody cares anymore).

Jason V I watched Dave’s The Closer. He seemed sincere in his special even though some jokes are very questionable. However, one thing I didn’t hear from his lips was an apology. I think many in the LGBTQ community are waiting for him to apologize publicy.
