Ivermectin does not appear on a list of approved treatments for COVID-19

Japan’s Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA) has not approved ivermectin for use to treat COVID-19. Ivermectin is a drug used often in animals to prevent heartworm disease and certain parasites, and it has not been authorized to treat or prevent COVID-19 in humans.

It’s been claimed that Japan has ended its Covid vaccine rollout and is now treating people with ivermectin. Cases in Japan have fallen but not because of ivermectin, which isn’t an approved treatment there. The country’s vaccination programme continues.

The video notes the Chair of the Tokyo Medical Association has spoken in support of Ivermectin (worryingly, without any data to support) However, the Toyko Medical Association has no authority to license medications or treatments. So this claim is just plain FASLE.

What people are saying?

Awyeebitcoin Technically there aren’t “approved” treatments in the US in the general sense. “Emergency Use Authorization” does not equate to an approval. Until these terms are clarified, fact checkers get to dancer around syntaxes and vernacular. I am also a fact checker (self-anointed).

An@chr0n1sm Nice play on words. It’s not ivermectin vs vaccines. They allow any alternative treatment and respect the rights of the people. Promotion of vaccines only, without promoting good sleep, exercise, mental health, and micronutrient supplementation is doing a disservice to everyone.
