Cases of a person who is infected with the influenza virus and COVID-19, either simultaneously or back-to-back, are not new, according to fact-checkers. These “co-infections” are being recorded recently around the globe, but first reports date back to early 2020.

The world’s first case of “flurona” was documented in Israel, but experts believe others have been infected with both COVID-19 and the flu without knowing.

It’s been dubbed flurona: when a person is infected with the influenza virus and the Covid-19 coronavirus, either simultaneously or back-to-back.
