Pfizer and BioNTech said that three doses of their vaccine may offer increased protection against the Omicron variant

Pfizer and BioNTech announced on Wednesday that tests signal that three doses of their COVID-19 vaccine may offer increased protection against the Omicron variant of the virus, according to multiple news sources and a statement released by the company.

Two doses of the BioNTech-Pfizer vaccine may not be enough to prevent infection with the omicron variant, but a third shot improves the protection.

The study, which was not peer-reviewed, found that omicron likely reduces efficacy of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine but does not render it ineffective and that a third dose offers even greater protection against the new variant.

I think we need an independent study. Surely it is in the interest of the manufacturer to propose additional boosters for their own economic benefits, irrelevant if it is true what they say. An also financially independent study would be helpful.

Darrell Eldridge Where is their data and their experimental design along with their assumptions. It’s total nonsense to conclude 3 doses will achieve the desired results, especially when they have not specified what that desired result is and how it works to prevent viral infection and spread.
