Federal officials are extending the requirement for masks on planes and public transportation through April 18 while taking steps that could lead to lifting the rule.
The mask mandate was scheduled to expire March 18, but the Transportation Security Administration said Thurs. that it will extend the requirement through April 18….The TSA enforces the mask rule, which extends to planes, buses, trains and transit hubs.
The requirement, which is enforced by the Transportation Security Administration, had been set to expire on March 18, but was extended by a month to allow the public health agency time to develop new, more targeted policies.

J Interesting. I flew United today. They wouldn’t allow passengers to wear a handkerchief/flimsy mask and gave out appropriate masks for those that didn’t have one. They made an announcement a couple of times during boarding and we didn’t depart until the cabin check was completed.
Kate O I have a condition where I cough a lot – allergic asthma type condition. People look at me in horror. Those advocating for no masks would hate to sit next to me .
