The FDA authorized Moderna and Pfizer boosters for all adults. If the CDC agrees, it would open up eligibility to tens of millions more fully vaccinated Americans as soon as this weekend.
US FDA has authorized coronavirus boosters for all adults. The news comes after several states had recently started allowing all adults to receive the booster shot, despite more narrow federal guidelines in place.
The CDC’s outside experts are scheduled to meet Friday afternoon to give advice on how the boosters should be used. After getting the recommendations, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky is expected to sign off on broader use of boosters, also on Friday.
