Singer and actor Meat Loaf, whose Bat Out Of Hell album is one of the best-selling of all time, has died at the age of 74

The Grammy winner, who was born Marvin Lee Aday, passed away on Thursday night with his wife Deborah by his side. In a statement on Facebook, his family said he was “an inspiring artist and beautiful man”. His cause of death has not been confirmed.

Meat Loaf, who was born Marvin Lee Aday, had a career that few could match. He was a trained Broadway belter and a multiplatinum-selling megastar whose biggest hits, like “Bat Out of Hell” and “Paradise by the Dashboard Light,” were radio staples.
