A massive fire in South Africa’s houses of parliament in Cape Town has completely burned down the National Assembly where parliamentarians sit. A man has been arrested, he is due in court Tuesday.
A man was due in court on Tuesday after a massive fire completely destroyed South Africa’s national assembly, officials said, as the blaze at the historic legislature continued to rage.
At least 70 firefighters are currently fighting the blaze in the Parlimentary precinct after a fire broke around 6am. Substantial damage reported by officials but no injuries or fatalities confirmed.
