Madagascar was hit by Cyclone Batsirai, killing at least 10 people and displacing nearly 48,000 on Sunday. The rain prompted flooding in parts of the country which is struggling to recover from a fatal tropical storm that hit the island nation earlier this year.

A cyclone killed at least 10 people in southeastern Madagascar, the second to hit the Indian Ocean island in just two weeks, triggering floods, bringing down buildings and cutting power, officials said on Sunday.

An estimated 45,000 people have been displaced by a cyclone in Madagascar, the National Office for Risk and Disaster Management said on Sunday.
