Oklahoma tornadoes in October break state record

Oklahoma sets a new tornado record for October. The NWS has updated the list of confirmed tornadoes from last week. 28 tornadoes have been documented so far. That would make this October the most active October on record for tornadoes in Oklahoma, surpassing 1998, which had 27.

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a 15% for eastern Oklahoma, SE Kansas, NW Arkansas, and western Missouri. For the threat of large damaging hail, damaging winds, isolated tornadoes.

Oklahoma’s updated tornado numbers for October… No other October has recorded more tornadoes than October of 2021. Accurate tornado record keeping began in 1950.
