European Parliament President David Sassoli has passed away at age 65. A spokesperson for the European Parliament president confirmed the death of Sassoli in Aviano, Italy, where he was admitted to hospital with immune system complications.

David Sassoli, the president of the European parliament, has died at the age of 65. He was admitted to hospital in his native Italy on December 26 after a ‘dysfunction of his immune system’.
