A list of deceased pilots taken from Air Line Pilot Magazine, has been ‘misinterpreted’, according to fact-checkers

Fact-checkers say an image of an in memoriam page featured in a publication affiliated with the Air Line Pilot Association (ALPA), Air Line Pilot Magazine, has been misinterpreted. A list of deceased pilots’ names depicted in the image has no confirmed connections to COVID-19 vaccines.

A memorial page of a magazine for American and Canadian airline pilots has been used to falsely suggest COVID-19 vaccines have caused 111 pilot deaths in 2021.

An image circulated of an in memoriam section from Air Line Pilot Magazine is out of context and not related to vaccine mandates, fact-checkers say.

NYer I lost a close friend last month who was an airline pilot. I’ve just been waiting for this to happen. The fact he’d been battling cancer for five years seems to not matter. These people who spread this misinformation are despicable.
