The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast “extremely heavy rains” at a few places in Mumbai and other parts of the coastal Konkan region in the next 24 hours. The weather department also predicted “heavy to very heavy” rainfall at isolated places over Gujarat, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Maharashtra and north Konkan on Thursday.
Today, very heavy rains are likely over Gujarat’s Saurashtra & Kutch subdivision, while West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh & Tamil Nadu can expect heavy rains.
Heavy rains brought by #CycloneGulab damaged India’s summer-sown crops just before harvesting in key growing regions, which could reduce production and lift prices.
