Toxic foam covers sacred Yamuna river in India

The Yamuna River in India was overtaken with toxic foam, Tuesday, as residents of New Delhi are already grappling with a blanket of thick smog over the capital.

Yamuna river, that runs through Delhi, has been covered by toxic foam — but that’s not stopping people from bathing in it to mark a Hindu religious festival.

Deputy chief minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia while presenting the AAP government’s budget for 2021-2022 in March had claimed that the Yamuna river will be fully cleaned in the next three years.

Roshan Varthur Lake , Bengaluru had similar issues , foams used to build up and cover up the roads, Govt of Karnataka took action to remedy the situation by first stopping all dumping of industrial waste into the lake and later by draining and removing the contaminated top soils.

samh Not surprised. Everything in India is toxic their water,their air is polluted,they dump everything that is toxic in their rivers and the country is over population. Worst place to live.
