The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announced the joint selection of the Nobel Prize laureates in chemistry in a news conference on Wednesday, where it was stated that the chemists’ “tools revolutionised the construction of molecules.” The two laureates were awarded the Nobel Prize for the development of “asymmetric organocatalysis”.
One of the winners of the Nobel Prize in chemistry, Benjamin List of Germany, shares the science behind molecules that can be used to make everything from medicines to food flavorings.
