Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Joe Biden spoke again on the phone Thursday afternoon about Ukraine.Per the White House, Putin and Biden spoke for about 50 minutes. The leaders last call that was made known to the public was on December 7, when Russia said it would send ideas on the crisis to Washington “within a week.”
Russia claims its military build-up is a response to increasing militarization by NATO countries on its borders and the prospect of Ukraine and perhaps other countries joining the NATO alliance.
U.S. intelligence agencies say Russian President Vladimir Putin now has the forces in place to launch a military incursion into Ukraine within weeks if he so chooses.
What people are saying?
Bryan MacDonald People realise that the “real threat” to European security has been the deliberate exclusion of Europe’s largest country from the continent’s security architecture, and the expansion of a bloc (NATO) that needs Russia as an enemy in order to justify its existence?
Tommy Tucker The US needs to keep to their own turf and stop escalating the situation. Russia is only mobilising troops in response to US stationing troops in EU NATO countries, right on Russia’s doorstep. It’s like the Cuban missle crisis. USSR put nukes in Cuba cause US had nukes in Turkey!
