Tensions continue to mount as fears of a Russian invasion of Ukraine persist globally. Russia has denied it is planning to invade despite massing an estimated 100,000 troops along the border. Kremlin officials said there was “little ground for optimism” following the US’s response to Russian demands but remain open to dialogue.
A day after the United States hand-delivered a response to Russia regarding its security concerns, Moscow said it was clear the U.S. was not willing to address its main concerns in their standoff over Ukraine.
The United States and Germany warned Russia that a major gas pipeline was at stake if it invades Ukraine, as Washington voiced hope for a diplomatic way out despite frigid statements from Moscow.
What people are saying?
Travis Williams That’s what they are doing. Over the last 6 years Russia has been outfitting its troops with all new rifles, armor, uniforms, tanks, planes. Even the Chinese did that. A rebuilt Russian Federation eastern block would be a great spear of influence and barrier fr them.
JustOneVoice This is not new. In this time we need to examine the past. We need for the horrible mistakes of humanity to AT LEAST have taught us something. There’s a rise of nationalism, social strife, and economic uncertainty worldwide. There’s border disputes in Europe.
