Russia on Thursday stated security talks with the United States and NATO in response to the build-up of Russian troops near Ukraine were “unsuccessful.” The bleak assessment came as Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov spoke of the possibility of military deployment to Latin America “if the US and its allies don’t curtail their military activities on Russia’s doorstep.”
Russia says talks with the US and Nato have failed to address its security grievances, adding that it would have the ‘political will’ to continue talks if the west was willing to negotiate on rolling back Nato’s expansion.
A senior Russian diplomat says that a Russian military deployment to Cuba and Venezuela can’t be excluded if tensions with the United States mount.
What people are saying?
Stof US/enemy forces in Europe threaten European security and the US does not seem to care. I would welcome Russian and Chinese forces in Cuba, Venezuela, and Mexico. A “missile shield” in those countries would help deter any further US military adventurism.
josefina concheso Will someone in the US government finally understand the importance of these totalitarian regimes being tolerated???? It’s not only the suffering of the people. It’s also a national security issue!!
