Statewide school closures and a curfew were imposed in Nigeria’s northern state of Zamfara

A vice principal and 73 students were kidnapped Wednesday, Sept. 1 abducted by a group of terrorists from Day Secondary School Kaya, in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Northwest Nigeria.

Amnesty International received disturbing report of the abduction of dozens of children by gunmen at Kaya Day Secondary School in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The government of Zamfara State, Northwest Nigeria has imposed a curfew in the state, and also shut down primary and secondary schools as terrorists continue to attack communities across the state.
