Poland will increase the number of soldiers on the Belarusian border to around 10,000 as the country sees a surge in migration, which they say is being orchestrated by Belarus, Reuters reports. The announcement came on Monday after Poland said two officers were injured along the border over the weekend.

Poland is set to boost the number of troops on its border with Belarus to about 10,000 in an effort to cope with a surge in migrants orchestrated by the regime of Belarus’s authoritarian leader, Alexander Lukashenko.

Poland’s Border Guards Office said a group of about 60 migrants “tried to force their way into Poland” wielding sticks and stones.
