Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced the suspension of Russia’s mission to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) on Monday. Lavrov also added that the staff at NATO’s military mission in Moscow would be stripped of their accreditation from November 1, as the alliance’s office in the Russian capital will close.
Russia is suspending its mission to NATO, with the foreign minister saying the move is in response to last week’s expulsion by NATO of eight members of the Russian mission. NATO says they were secretly working as intelligence officers.
Earlier this month NATO expelled what it said were eight undeclared Russian intelligence officers from its Brussels headquarters, and reduced the size of Moscow’s mission from 20 to 10.

Ferarn I like how this is a bit of a scandal with regards to international politics, but civilian populations are just like, “And? We already assumed everyone was spying on each other just as standard practice.”
