Several countries have banned Russian planes from their airspace

Following the invasion of Ukraine, the number of countries that are banning Russian airlines from their airspace keeps going up. On Sunday, Finland, a country that shares an 800-mile border with Russia, announced that it is prepared to implement the measure.

Most of Europe closed its airspace to carriers from Russia, which reciprocated with its own bans in an echo of the Cold War restrictions that caused airlines to fly circuitous intercontinental routes.

The U.S. embassy in Moscow warns American citizens to consider leaving the country immediately, as more countries impose airspace restrictions on Russia.

What people are saying?

earthrocker1 Putin is in a very tenuous position. He expected a quick victory, with minimal losses & an occupation force to restore order under Russian rule. Now he is embroiled in a war against the entire Ukranian population, fought somewhat guerrilla style. Putin can’t win with honor.

Nick Falco Its not that they WANT to be there, but some peoples jobs need them to be in places all over the world, no matter how hectic or dangerous. Yes even Russia.
