South African President Cyril Ramaphosa promised to “restore order” to the country

South Africa’s poorest are left to deal with the fallout after the country was gripped by days of looting and rioting in which more than 200 people were killed.

Some of the residents of Hammersdale in Kwazulu Natal tell us that they are not looting at this meat storage facility. They say they have been given permission by the owner to take whatever they want because the products can’t be sold to the market anymore.

Looting continues at Sequence Logistics storage facility in Hammarsdale in Kwazulu Natal, people coming out of the smoke with meat and other items.
