Wang Yaping, 41, will be the first woman “taikonaut” — the term China uses for its astronauts — to board China’s Tiangong space station. Wang, on her second trip into space, is also expected to become China’s first female spacewalker.
Cady Coleman, a former female NASA astronaut, sents encouraging words to the first Chinese female astronaut Wang Yaping, and said to her: “When you look out the window, see the stars and earth, billions of women are looking at that window with you, including me”.
Wang Yaping will be the first femaleastronaut in China to work out of the cabin. She was born in 1980, 1567 hours of PLA air pilot time. Depart on october sixteenth.
