When it was confirmed that Ben Roethlisberger would miss the remainder of the 2019 NFL season with an elbow injury, Pittsburgh fans quickly shifted their attention to Rudolph, who performed well during the preseason and in the Steelers’ Week 2 loss against Seattle.
Ben Roethlisberger underwent an MRI on his right elbow that revealed he will need season-ending surgery this week. He will be placed on IR.

Daniel Valente tweeted:
“This #Steelers team is not going to pack it in, not with Mason Rudolph in at QB. Just look at the fire & energy he brings to the field as his play rallied the offense yesterday. You can bet he is chomping at the bit to show why this team made the right call to trade up & get him.”
As reporters approached Mason Rudolph in the locker room, corner Mike Hilton blurted out, ‘tell them you’re built for this s—-, Mase.’
But Rudolph performed well in backup duty during the Steelers 28-26 loss to the Seahawks
