Facebook is making a rival of Whatsapp and Instagram called Threads.

Facebook the tech giant is recently working on this app which will be a companion to Instagram and will allow the users to share the location data and statuses with friends.
So according to the reports this app will utilize the “close friends” feature which is currently owned by Facebook.
This close friends feature is basically used by users when they want to share their stories with only a specific group of people.
But, Thread is reported to invite users to automatically share their information like battery life, location and speed with friends also the standard texts, videos, and photos.
The new app is now being tested by Facebook.

Some of the features of the app are revealed by the illustrated screenshots obtained by the media.
The screenshots show a list of simple status updates like “Free”, “Bored” and “Busy”. The status could also be uploaded manually.
This simple status update is already a feature of Whatsapp that is owned by Facebook.
This new app; Threads is expected to be more like the current messaging feature of Instagram but with all these new features.
But, right now it is not clear as to when Thread will come in the market.
Instagram was asked about the new app being launched but they remained silent.
Also, earlier this year rumors had it that Facebook was thinking of merging the messaging part of its Messenger app with both Instagram and Whatsapp.
This project is reported to involve “thousands of Facebook employees”, who are working on merging the apps together.
Whatsapp, Facebook messenger, and Instagram will remain standalone apps, just their messaging part will become a unified system.
