Trump tweeted on 23rd August on how China has been stealing from the US and selling their goods in the US. He ordered the US firms to divert from China after Beijing announced new retaliatory measures.

He tweeted:

“They have stolen our Intellectual Property at a rate of Hundreds of Billions of Dollars a year & they want to continue. I won’t let that happen! We don’t need China and, frankly, would be far better off without them. The vast amounts of money made and stolen by China from the United States, year after year, for decades, will and must STOP. Our great American companies are hereby ordered to immediately start looking for an alternative to China, including bringing……..”

It was also reported that Donald Trump has ordered to put more tariffs on goods from China.

Boris Johnson, the British addressed this issue saying that all the tariffs should be removed. Speaking to the reporters he said, “I am very, very concerned about the situation going on between China and the US.”

The two countries have imposed tariffs on each other’s goods.

The White House is accusing Beijing of unfair competition, and China retaliates.

Johnson said, “This is no way to proceed. The people who support the tariffs are at risk of incurring the blame for the downturn in the global economy, irrespective of whether it’s true”.

“I want to see this tension between the countries to die and I want to see the tariffs come off”.

Johnson said that he would discuss this problem with Donald Trump and he made this clear that National Health Service cannot form part of any agreement.

Johnson will meet the President for the first time to discuss the issue although they have spoken on phone calls several times.
