A candlelight vigil was held in Waukesha, Wisconsin, to mourn the five people who were killed during a parade

The Waukesha community gathered for an interfaith candlelight vigil in the wake of the tragic death of five people after a car drove through a parade on Sunday, leaving dozens of others injured. The vigil commenced at 5 pm at Cutler Park in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

Four of the five people killed in the Waukesha Christmas parade tragedy were with the Milwaukee Dancing Grannies group, TMJ4 has learned. Three were dancers (Virginia Sorenson, LeAnna Owen, Tamara Durand) and one was a volunteer (Wilhelm Hospel).

The Milwaukee Dancing Grannies have been a joyful holiday fixture in Wisconsin for nearly 40 years. Tragedy struck on Sunday when three of the grandmothers were killed by an SUV that tore through a Christmas parade.

What people are saying?

Sen. Tammy Baldwin A moving vigil tonight, joined the Waukesha community as we came together to pay our respects to the innocent victims whose lives were taken. Please keep them and the injured in your prayers as we all work to heal.

We live in a culture where violence is glorified and celebrated. This should come as no surprise to anyone. What we allow is what will continue. My fear is that this is the start of Irish style Troubles coming to America.
