A driver narrates his story on how he needed more cash for his wedding so he started driving Uber and Lyft and the difference he felt while working with both the services.
First up is registration, when he went for his registration as a driver both the companies asked for the personal information that he provided but just after two or three days Lyft accepted his information and assigned him as Lyft driver whereas Uber took a lot of time checking every single detail and it took so much time that got him thinking that Uber might have rejected his application, but after contacting the customer care center he got to know that they are just going through the procedure and will update him in a few days. This concerned him a lot for the drivers giving the signal that may be Lyft isn’t safe enough and it has its system all computerized.
When it came to uploading the picture of the vehicle in this too Uber took more time in analyzing the pictures than Lyft which only took few minutes in accepting the pictures and granting him as the driver of Lyftbut both services did not come personally to analyze his vehicle.
Uber provides more money as it is more popular:
He says that he uses both the apps side by side when he gets a ride request from one app he signs off from the other. As Uber is more popular the rides request come more quickly than Lyft. Uber also gives back to back rides so if he is dropping off a passenger he will get notification of another ride and he can immediately accept that after dropping off the previous ride. Whereas in Lyft the rides just keep adding to the queue and it doesn’t let him accept the ride until the previous one is finished so the next rider feels like the driver is trying to waste his time and gets annoyed.
If a person wants to reject a ride on Uber he can do so and Uber won’t say anything and let him pursue on finding another rider but on Lyft if the driver tries to reject the ride starts sending notifications via mail, messages and on app that “if you don’t want to accept the ride sign off!”
Security is the prime concern for Uber:
Uber takes it’s security very seriously, like if a person wants to share his or her location with another person just to be on the safe side he can easily do that by clicking on “follow my ride”. Whereas on Lyft it is not possible so you can’t share where you are going with anyone, in case any dangerous situation occurs.
The passengers also like to know who they are riding with so Uber has a strict policy of adding pictures of the drivers on the profile whereas for the passenger it is not necessary to add a picture so all the driver gets is pictures of dogs, birds or Spongebob Squarepants.
On Lyft the passengers can upload their photos but the drivers can’t see it but at least Lyft provides some information of the passenger so the driver knows what he is looking for.

Uber app works better than Lyft. As we are in 2019 we need things that have a fast pace so that we do not have to waste a lot of time. In Uber the map and everything is so efficient, a driver knows where he is going and if he is going the wrong way or the right ways, whereas Lyft doesn’t let the driver zoom in to a place so he can clearly understand the location of the passenger, and find him if the driver tries to zoom in, the app freezes and even if the driver is away from the passenger’s location it says “you have arrived at the destination” and doesn’t go away for five seconds and after that it zooms in and shows that you are at the wrong place.

So for all these Uber is by far a better service provider for driver and passenger than Lyft.
