Fact-checkers say an image of a Tweet from the World Economic Forum is fabricated. The digitally altered image was first shared in 2021 as satire and has resurfaced recently on social media platforms. There is no evidence of the post existing and World Economic Forum officials confirmed the image is not authentic.
Social media users are sharing an old, fabricated image to falsely claim the World Economic Forum once tweeted about lowering the age of consent. The image appeared in a thread of satirical posts in June 2021, and the WEF confirmed the tweet is fake.
A screenshot of an alleged tweet in support of lowering the age of consent to 13 from the verified World Economic Forum (WEF) profile has resurfaced online, but a WEF spokesperson had told that no such tweet was shared.
What people are saying?
Alex sure is a guy So many valid reasons to have a problem with the World Economic Forum and right-wingers just keep glomping on to nonsense. Welp, not like conspiracy theorists have ever let silly things like evidence that they’re wrong stop them before.
