The Romanian government of liberal Prime Minister Florin Citu was brought down by a no-confidence vote in parliament on Tuesday, threatening to plunge the country into fresh political instability.

Romania’s center-right governing coalition has collapsed after lawmakers voted to bring down Prime Minister Florin Cîțu’s administration.

The government of Romanian PM Florin Citu was toppled today, after a large majority of MPs backed a no-confidence motion filed last week by the main opposition Social Democratic Party.
