Avanti West Coast advised customers to “not travel” on Sunday after a fallen tree caused delays

Bad weather and fallen trees on the train tracks blocked travel routes for delegates and journalists heading to COP26, the United Nations Climate Change conference, in Glasgow on Sunday. Environment Minister Zac Goldsmith was stranded after all trains from London Euston were cancelled, with Avanti West Coast advising customers to “not travel”.

Delegates, campaigners and journalists travelling by train to the Glasgow climate conference fell victim to a weather-related delay on Sunday – a fallen tree on a railway line.

All Glasgow trains out of Euston cancelled because of a fallen tree. Concourse rammed with people. Not clear atm how/whether anyone is getting to Glasgow today in time for the first day of COP26.

What people are saying?

Exactly! A piece of useless information – weather was the same on 31st October last year, in fact it was even windier. I remember being absolutely soaked taking the dog on an extra long walk in torrential rain to tire him out before visitors arrived.

Dave Robinson I’m adapting and conforming, I’m no climate change denier, but it does make me smile when people switch between “that’s weather not climate” and “that’s climate not weather” depending on the required narrative.
