Masks have been made a mandatory requirement for all staff, visitors, contractors and press visiting the House of Commons. However, MPs have been excluded from the updated guidance, released by Commons authorities, with Health Secretary Sajid Javid saying it was a “personal decision” for politicians.

WHO Special Envoy on COVID-19 Dr David Nabarro says the level of Covid-19 in the UK is “very serious”, adding “everybody should be wearing masks, particularly in crowded places, everybody should be practicing physical distancing”.

JOHN NICOLSON M.P. I’m afraid the behaviour of most Tory MPs in the Commons is disgraceful. Staff are required to wear masks to protect MPs but most Tory MPs won’t wear masks to protect the staff. I’ve never seen the staff so angry and upset. It’s the disdain.
