A federal judge just canceled oil and gas leases of more than 80 million acres in the Gulf of Mexico, ruling that the Biden administration did not sufficiently take climate change into account when it auctioned the leases late last year.
A U.S. judge cancels all of Biden’s oil and gas leasing sales in the Gulf covering 80 million acres after the President ignored climate risk in his decision. Huge. The kind of ruling courts make when not intimidated by the oil industry.
The D.C. District Court revokes a decision to offer 80 million acres in the Gulf of Mexico for oil and gas leasing, marking a pivotal victory in the fight to defend Gulf communities and the planet from the worsening climate crisis.

Sushain garg I really feel the money they are using to sue biden should be used to find alternative sources cuz at the end it ain’t gonna do nothing instead we will just pump oil from somewhere else and its gonna be guys like us for whom its gonna cost another extra hard-earned buck.
Konni@OurRepublic Aren’t we stealing outside our lane? I understand there’s concern about climate change and greenhouse gas but for a federal judge to make a decision on something that’s not settled law is concerning.
