A federal judge temporarily blocked a near-total ban on abortion in Texas – the toughest such law in the country – in a challenge brought by President Biden’s administration after the Supreme Court had allowed it to go into effect.
“From the moment S.B. 8 went into effect, women have been unlawfully prevented from exercising control over their lives in ways that are protected by the Constitution.”
A federal judge has ordered Texas to suspend the nation’s most restrictive abortion law, which banned most abortions statewide. The state is expected to appeal.
What people are saying?
Logical Leftist Even if you have an eight grader’s knowledge of the Constitution, this Texas law was beyond illegal by any logical interpretation. It’s astounding it took this long for it to be blocked. Texas should focus on improving their education system, instead.
JTJONES Supreme Court couldn’t find any way to hear a challenge to the law. “Gee, so sorry, nothing we can do!” How much you want to bet they find a way to overturn this injunction with lightening speed? (Unless the 5th Circuit does it for them).
