During a recent visit to Kansas City, President Biden said he wants to ensure Americans are “not being gouged for gas”

President Biden visited Kansas City on Wednesday where he spoke about gas prices across America during a brief address. A cropped clip from his speech circulating on social media misrepresents Biden’s comments about gas prices, which have been on the rise. In a longer clip shared by The Hill, Biden says progress is being made to reduce prices.

A misleading clip circulating on social media that shows President Joe Biden saying he aims to “ensure the American people are paying their fair share for gas” cuts off the end of his sentence, where he adds “not being gouged for gas.”

“Nationally, gas prices are down seven cents a gallon and continue to fall. We’re making progress. We’re gonna keep at it to ensure the American people are paying their fair share for gas, not being gouged for gas.”

What people are saying?

CheshaGurimu We have always had luxury prices on gas. I’m spoiled and the fact that I need a car to do pretty much anything makes this problem worse. Not to mention it is expensive to own a vehicle in the first place. Wish we could invest on better forms of transportation.

We try, we could probably have funded electric busses, affordable electric cars, and have green energy to power these things if republicans actually cared bout their people. Because the republicans get paid by oil companies both over and under the table this won’t happen.
