Ivanka Trump has been asked to cooperate with a US House of Representatives panel probing the Capitol riot. The former President Donald Trump’s daughter and White House aide was said to be present at the Oval office during the attack.
The House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol is asking Ivanka Trump, former President Donald Trump’s daughter and one of his former White House advisers, to voluntarily sit down with the committee.
The committee wants to know what the former president’s daughter may have heard of a conversation with then-VP Mike Pence on January 6.
What people are saying?
Our Blue America I doubt she’ll even go. But there is an interesting thing the committee could maybe do with her that they prob don’t want to do with hardly anyone else: they can offer her immunity. It makes it very, very difficult to use the 5th when they do that.
Tom LaSusa I’m not understanding: is the committee REQUIRED to start with voluntary cooperation requests first? Because at this point, all the major players have rejected the voluntary path (with a few ignoring the subpoenas). Can’t they just skip the niceties and subpoena her?
