Americans in Ukraine should leave the country as soon as possible as a Russia invasion of Ukraine could launch in the coming days before the end of the Winter Olympics, National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said Friday.
National security adviser Jake Sullivan says Russia could invade Ukraine “any day now,” but the US still holds out hope that diplomacy can prevail.
“Any American in Ukraine should leave as soon as possible,” Jake Sullivan, White House national security adviser, says. “The risk is now high enough and the threat is now immediate enough.”
What people are saying?
MS No, Russia will not invade Ukraine. A large-scale military operation does not fit into Moscow’s cost-benefit calculus. The cost-effective policy is a conscious choice because the Russian decision-makers know well that they do not have the means to maintain a large-scale war.
Mumtaz Morad We hope too that diplomacy may resolve the issue. But if events gone wrong, don’t engage U.S troops in land battle with Russia to avoid getting loser for no cause.
