The Biden administration is considering sending some of the Afghan evacuees at a US military base in Kosovo back to Afghanistan if they cannot clear the intense vetting process to come to the United States.
The final group of Afghan evacuees living at Fort Lee in Virginia have been resettled. This was the first base to welcome Afghan SIVs (pre-August). To date, more than 25,000 Afghan evacuees have been resettled in the U.S. and 45,000 are still living on military bases.
The U.S. continues to house 45,000 Afghan evacuees at military bases in Indiana, Virginia, New Jersey, New Mexico and Wisconsin. Another 2,600 evacuees remain at overseas bases, per the latest DHS data.
What people are saying?
Bebe Well duh but with the chaos that ensued and how the media here kept rambling to just get the people out and worry about paperwork later. This is why it happened. The faux rage people had during the evacuation process.
Laureal BG They need to be focusing on getting the rest of our men and women out of Afghanistan first! There are still countless of our own that need to be rescued. It’s f’ing ridiculous.
