According to a transcript of a telephone conversation released by the White House, President Trump urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate former vice president Joe Biden and his son, Hunter. The call prompted a whistleblower complaint and the opening of a formal impeachment inquiry.

As President Trump promised, here is the full, unredacted transcript of his call with the Ukrainian President:

“Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if you can look into it…” Trump told Ukraine’s President Zelensky, according to the transcript released by the White House

These are the first 4 pages of the transcript between President Trump and Ukraine’s President Zelensky, just released from the White House:

The key portion of the transcript: Donald Trump asks Ukraine’s president to work with AG Barr to “look into” @JoeBiden and his son. Trump cites “a lot of talk” that something fishy happened and it “sounds horrible to me.”

Trump tells supporters in a new fundraising email: “I’VE DONE NOTHING WRONG. TRUST ME, YOU SAW THE TRANSCRIPT.”

According to a White House note, the transcript is “a memorandum of a telephone conversation and is not a verbatim account of the conversation. The text reflects the notes and memories of officials in the Situation Room.” (Source: Washington Post)

The conversation was so concerning that, afterward, intelligence officials referred the matter to DOJ to investigate whether the president had committed a crime. DOJ said no.
